I just have one question: until when is the poll going to be on? It’s an important thing to say…

I will close on Aug 7 to give me JETs enough time.

Would it be possible to push that date back to the 9th? I was just thinking that most of the KENCHO JETs will be in Yufuin from the 5-9th and won’t have computer access during that time.

OK, 8th it is. Spread the word so everyone gets a vote in.

Hi, Stephen just voted on his computer, but the tally did not add it… Now, on my computer, there is no option to vote. Is this because we use the same internet connection? I guess that may be a problem for two jets living together. Tyler, would you please add two for Danielle? Thanks!

I just want to say that two thins were terrible wrong in this process: people were not clearly informed of the deadline of the election and, most importantly, some people could not vote, as the comment left by Caitlyn showed! Although I understand the premise behind that, it’s not fair that some people could not vote and that the answer to their questions was “find another computer”!

Just to let you know what’s on my mind.

I’d like to echo Angelo’s comment. It’s seems like the results are not remotely accurate. If you’d like me to find another computer, I could do that at an internet cafe in town, but then I could also vote twelve times at every computer there. The reason I wouldn’t do that is because it’s not on the up-and-up and I wouldn’t feel good about cheating. I’d like to think that my AJET Prez has the same feelings about fairness.
Next time there’s a big event in the OitaJet sphere, let’s try to get more information out there and keep it a little cleaner.

This comment is very late because I was having problems for the longest time to actually post it on the site for some reason…

I don’t think that this was the best way to do an election, let alone a surprise one at that. I don’t think anyone else in the prefecture knew there was one coming, let alone having anyone else have a chance to run for president outside of the 2 candidates. Fishy right from the start.

Also, I can understand the voting problems to make sure theres no spam voting, but how about making it a physical vote? Send a post card to a certain address (say kencho) and have them tally everything. It costs less than 100yen to send one, and that’s all you need to make sure people vote and only do so once!

And changing the deadline suddenly probably didn’t help much either in letting anyone know about, let alone VOTE in a matter like this.

All the best to the “winner”, and I hope that next time it’ll be better organized and run!
