The 5th Oita International Exchange Kikizake Competition
The Oita Prefecture Distillers Association has once again organized a shochu/sake tasting contest for foreigners. Learn the different varieties or shochu and sake, and will test how well you can place the flavors of different types of liquors. Top finishers will receive prizes, and refreshments will be served after the competition.
What: The 5th Oita International Exchange Kikizake Competition and the National Competition Oita Preliminary
When: Saturday, June 21st Oita Preliminary 14:00~16:00 Kikizake Competion 16:00~19:00
Where: Toyo Hotel, Oita City. (Behind Oita Station on route 210)
How to Apply: Admission is Free! To apply, send an e-mail with your name, country, phone number, and e-mail address to oitasake@yahoo.com. In order to be eligible for the Oita Preliminary, you MUST plan on being in Oita in October of this year to participate in the Tokyo Competition. Application deadline is June 13th.

Oita Preliminary: 20 (Participants will be selected by random drawing in the case of a large number of applicants)
Admission Deadline: June 13th (Sun)
Note: Twenty years is the legal age for drinking alcohol in Japan, and ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW IDENTIFICATION (picture ID that shows your date of birth). Please plan responsibly and refrain from driving yourself.
